Claude access
Sign in to a Claude account that can add a custom connector.
Add a custom Claude connector with a Patsnap MCP URL, authorize it with your Patsnap account, then enable it in a chat.
The screenshots come from the supplied September 2026 demo and show the US Patsnap Connect flow.
Sign in to a Claude account that can add a custom connector.
Use a Patsnap account with access to the MCP server and its permitted data.
Copy the MCP connection URL in Patsnap Connect, then use the base URL ending in /mcp. Do not include an API key.
Follow the Patsnap Connect and Claude screens in order. The example connector is Patent Landscape Analytics.
In Patsnap Connect, open the Patent Landscape Analytics MCP server and choose Get connection URL. Remove the API-key query string and keep the base URL ending in /mcp.
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, then click Add in the upper-right corner.
Name it Patent Landscape Analytics and enter the /mcp URL. Leave the optional OAuth client ID and client secret blank, then click Add.
The new connector initially appears unconnected. Click Connect to open Patsnap authorization in your browser.
Sign in with Google or your work email. The connector inherits the rights of this Patsnap account.
Review the requested read-data permission and click Allow access. Patsnap redirects you back to Claude.
In Claude, check that Disconnect is available and the tool list appears. The demo showed 24 read-only tools, set to require approval before use; the count may change.
This US example uses an OAuth-enabled /mcp endpoint. Copy the actual URL for your MCP server; 59100a is an example server identifier, not a universal value.
| Field | Public documentation value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Connector name | Patent Landscape Analytics | A descriptive name shown in Claude; the demo uses Patent Landscape Analytics. |
| Server URL | https://connect.patsnap.com/59100a/mcp | Use the /mcp base URL without an apikey query parameter. Replace the example identifier with the value from your own server. |
| OAuth client ID / secret | — | The optional fields are blank in the demonstrated flow. |
| Authentication | OAuth | After Add, click Connect, sign in to Patsnap, and allow the requested access. |
After authorization, enable the connector for a chat and ask Claude a patent research question.
Open a Claude chat, click + → Connectors, and switch on Patent Landscape Analytics.
For example: “How has solid-state battery patenting changed since 2019? Identify leading applicants, fast-growing technical branches, and main filing jurisdictions; cite the evidence.” Review each tool approval request. The demo proposes this prompt but does not show a completed search result.
Use the base Patsnap Connect MCP URL ending in /mcp. The example is https://connect.patsnap.com/59100a/mcp. Do not paste an API-key URL into this OAuth connector.
Adding the connector only saves its address. Click Connect, complete Patsnap sign-in, review the permissions, and select Allow access. Then return to Claude and check the tool list.
The demo shows read-only tools requiring approval before use. Tool availability and data access depend on the signed-in Patsnap account; tool counts and approval settings may change.
